Paisley was taken off of the vent yesterday (Oct. 18) in the morning. Jessica was able to hold her and even nurse her by that night. This means just a few more days in the hospital before she comes home. The big hurdles are Paisley has to prove she can eat and regulate her body temperature. The Crow family thanks everyone that has been praying for her and just asks for continued prayers for her to come home soon.

Paisley Jean Crow
Please keep Paisley in your prayers. She has been at Big Baptist since October 13 (the day after she was born) due to respatory distress. She inhaled amniotic fluid and has a pneumothorax. The latter is healing on its own but the former is giving her some difficulties. She is in the NICU on a resporator. Hopefully she will be coming home soon. Today, Oct. 16, her breathing was less labored and that is a good sign. Jessica will keep Sister Helen and Lisa Wade posted or you can feel free to call for updates.

Alicia- Praise that a project she was dreading at work and was scared about was finished with the Lord guiding her

Please pray that Jeremy can turn it over to God and rid himself of the guilt that he is feeling. Also, Sister Helen is getting some ladies to help clean/cook/ect for Neva Parker. If you feel called to help please contact her.
Called and Accountable
Monday night we started our study/discussion about the book "Called and Accountable". Lesson One (wonderfully led by Jenne) had us thinking about WHY God calls us. We discussed that while God could handle the world by Himself, He has chosen us to spread His word. A really good subject that got us all talking was how are we being called in the workplace. Are we living as Christians at work like we should be?

Prepare for the Bridegroom

This year's theme is Preparing for the Bridegrooom. As our own way of kicking this theme off, we put together a Hope Chest. The items that were put in were all signifcant of various board positions and local chair positions to remind us of all that we do for the Lord and for eachother.
Our president put in a "life manual". We had our watch-care provider put in a coloring book. Reminding us that children need to be tended to so that there mothers can hear the Word. Our spirtual advisor enclosed a Bible and the hospitality chair put in a bowl. Reminding us to nourish our bodies so that we can better nourish our souls. The particiapation chair put in a piece of fabric remonsicent of a patchwork quilt. This symbolizes how we grow together to become one and piecing our memories together. Thank you notes were included as we bring in more women and thank the current members for all their hard work. A CD was enclosed so that we all remember to keep music in our lives. The treasurer put in a dollar bill not only to remind us that we are giving to the bridegroom but to also remind us about being good stewards. Lastly, a telephone as put in the Hope Chest to make sure that we all now that through prayer we will always have an open line to the bridegroom.
The theme verses are Matthew 25:1-13 and Ephesians 4:11-13.
PWOC 2007/2008 Kick-Off
We said good-bye to our Chaplain adviser Tony Wade and will be welcoming Chpln. Scott as our new adviser for the year. We are excited, as always, about getting to work and share our ministry with new people.
We are happy that Ruby volunteered to step up and continue as our PWOC President. As a reminder to all the ladies, we will be needing help this year since not all the board positions were able to be filled. Please pray about where the Lord needs you to do His work.
The kick off was a big success. We played a fun game (asking people off the wall questions) which helped to get to know our sisters better. We learned fun, new things about everyone. Even the people that we have known for years gave us new insights to their lives.
We want to thank everyone who brought food to share. Everything was delicious. Mother Sue, I think we all want you recipe for the "Poor Man's Cheesecake" that you made!
We look forward to seeing everyone, both the "veterans" and the "newbies" this coming year.
