Christmas Party Rescheduled
As everyone knows, we had to cancel last night's Christmas Party due to the bad weather. I called Jennie yesterday and she looked at the church calender for me and we were able to reschedule. The Christmas Party will now be Dec 22 from 6-8. That is next week monday. I know that it is a little close to Christmas for some people to come, but we wanted to have it before Eva left.

Saying Goodbye
On Monday, December 8, will be the going away party for Eva. Ladies, please don't forget to bring the finger foods. We will be meeting at 6 that night instead of 6:30. This way we can properly fairwell Eva and then still have Bible study at 6:30.
Eva, you will be missed. We are all saddened to see you go but we are also rejoicing. We are rejoicing for the new ways you will be blessing people at your new base. We will pray for you and your family often.

Lisa Wade
Ladies,
Please lift up Lisa and her family in the coming week. She leaves for Greenland on the 22 to see Tony. We want to pray for her peace of mind as she flys and for peace of mind not to worry about her children while she enjoys her time with her husband. We also need to pray for Lisa's parents. They will be staying with Miriam and Nathaniel while Lisa is away. Please pray for just a joyous week with their grandchildren.

Prayer Requests
Heavenly Father we have some heavy burdens that we cannot carry ourselves and so we are laying them down at your feet. Gladstone Thompson is in need of job as does another young man. Jimmy Johnson needs strength and Luis is in need of healing. We ask for your arms of comfort to surround the Johnson family. You have called their daughter home for reasons known only to You so we ask for comfort and peace upon their family. You have also called home another daughter, Katie Jenkins. Please place your comfort and peace upon her family as well. We have members of our church family that we may not know their names, but You certainly do, that are in need of healing both physically and emotionally. We want to lift up Eva's sister as the doctor's operate on her back and for a husband with cancer. Lord, we seem to always come to you in times of trial but we also want to thank You for your good works. We are praising about a young man who is closing on his new home. We are praising for Eva's sister whose tumor is non-cancerous. We are praising for the safe return of a young airman from Iraq. We also praise Your most precious name and all the blessings that You bestow upon us.
Amen

It was brought to my attention Monday night that maybe not everyone would like their prayer requests/praise reports posted on our blog. I am very sorry if I have offended anyone by doing this. Please write on the prayer request slips if you want your request posted or not. Thanks!

Changes To Our Daily Bread
Hello! Since I am getting ready to go on vacation and with school starting I will not have time to post a new bible verse everyday. I did find a site so that I could add an icon that will give you a random verse everytime you check the page. You can also click on the icon to get a new verse as well. This icon is at the top of the page and is called "Manna for the Moment".
Please let me know what you think of this feature.
Thanks!

Daily Bread
I know that it has been too long since I have posted the daily bread and for that I applogize.
"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."
Ephesians 4:32 NKJ
I picked this verse after I finished registering Houston for school today. As school starts, we need to remember to be kind to one another to help create a loving learning environment. This is just one more way for we, as Christians, to be good witnesses.

Cynthia Phillips
This is Cynthia's obituary as it appeared in the July 8 eddition of The News Herald
Cynthia Bryant Phillips (1957-2008) of San Antonio, Texas, passed away and entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 28, 2008. Cynthia was a dedicated military wife, mother and ministry servant to Air Force Base chapels at Holloman AFB, New Mexico and Little Rock AFB, AR. She was active in the Protestant Women of the Chapel boards and served as president for the Little Rock PWOC. She was an accomplished artist and painter donating oil-on-canvas paintings to the many communities and organizations she served. Nature was the place she most loved to spend time and be close to God. She lived life to the fullest, practiced giving before receiving, and brought joy to all who were blessed enough to have known her. She is survived by her husband, USAF Chaplain Captain Bradford S. Phillips of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Ashli C. Bryant-Pierson of Stuart, Fla.; her mother, Pearl Bryant of Morganton; sisters, Gina Bryant, Lona Ranson and Patricia Bryant; and brothers, Ronnie Bryant, Jerry Bryant and Terry Bryant. Dr. Gary Chapman of Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem will preside over funeral services today at Pisgah Baptist Church, 2665 Pisgah Church Road, Lenoir.

Our Daily Bread
"The unfailing love of the Lord never ends!…Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each day."
Lamentations 3:22-23
NLT
What a wonderful thing to know! The unfailing love of our Lord and Saviour NEVER ends! People fall in and out of love all the time. Marriages end, friendships end, but we will always have that constant love in our life. The love of Jesus. It is the one true unconditional love, the love that we can cling to in times of joy and in times of sorrow. How awesome is that!!

Our Daily Bread
I get a different bible verse in my e-mail every day. When it comes to my personal daily bread I am still taking baby steps. I thought to myself what a good push this would be for me to get out my bible every day by posting a daily verse on the PWOC blog.
"And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love really is."
Ephesians 3:18
NLT

Cynthia Phillips
Ladies,
Please pray for the Phillips Family. Cynthia Phillips left her earthly body to be with our Lord and Savior Saturday, June 28. I think Houston said it best today when we prayed. "Please Mr. Brad don't be sad that Miss Cynthia died because now she gets to see God all the time."

Happy Valentine's Day!

With Valentine's Day here once more, I thought that it would be a good idea to post some scripture to remind us of love and obedience.
"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it."
Eph. 5:25
"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord:
Eph. 5:22
"So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He than loveth his wife loveth himself."
Eph. 5:28
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the day of her life."
Prov. 31:10-12
"Give thanks to the God of gods. His love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords. His love endures forever."
Psalms 136:2-3
